The Simon Konover Company recently broke ground on a new retail building located at 624 West Main Street in Norwich, Connecticut. This is the latest expansion of retail space on the corner of West Main Street, Route 82, and Norman Road in Norwich by The Simon Konover Company.
The new 5,000 square foot building will be located at Marcus Plaza, northwest of the existing shopping center. New leases have been signed with Moe’s Southwest Grill and We R Wireless, a Verizon Wireless Premium Retailer. Construction is scheduled to be completed in May 2017. The property is owned by Norwich Realty Associates, LLC, an affiliate of The Simon Konover Company and is being developed by Sikon Development Corporation (SKC).
“The construction of this new retail space is the culmination of several years of significant investment,” said James Wakim, President and Chief Operating Officer of The Simon Konover Company. “We eagerly anticipate the completion of the new space and welcoming our two new tenants to the Norwich market.”
Sikon Development Corporation recently completed renovations and upgrades to Marcus Plaza, which is anchored by Shop Rite and TJ Maxx. In addition, affiliates of The Simon Konover Company purchased the former Friendly’s restaurant at 620 West Main Street in 2012. Following extensive renovations, Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen opened on the property earlier in 2016.
