Redevelopment of Nelton Court, Hartford, Connecticut

The Simon Konover Development Corporation and the Housing Authority of the City of Hartford are in the final stages of signing a Developer’s Agreement to completely redevelop the last federal low income housing project owned by the Housing Authority in the north end of Hartford. nbsp

The redevelopment proposal and improvements will include complete demolition of the existing 156 units which were constructed in 1942, and construction of 80 new units with a mix of one, two, three and four bedroom units to meet the demands of the Hartford Housing Authority’s resident population. In addition to the construction of the new units, the site infrastructure will be upgraded, new passive open space recreation, improved parking and the construction of a 4000 square foot community building to serve both residents and Housing Authority management operations.

The approach to construction will be a design-build method which expedites delivery of the project. The Simon Konover Development Corporation has retained KBE Building Corporation of Farmington, CT as the project’s Design-Builder.
