One Century Tower Earns EPA ENERGY STAR Certification

One Century Tower, located at 265 Church Street in New Haven, has earned the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR certification for 2014.

ENERGY STAR is a voluntary program administered by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that recognizes and certifies superior performing energy efficient buildings.

One Century Tower, a 20-story, 270,000 square foot Class A office tower, is owned by Wiggin and Dana LLP and Century One Limited Partnership, a Konover-related partnership, and is managed by Konover Commercial Corporation.

One Century Tower is one of only seven office buildings in Connecticut receiving the 2014 ENERGY STAR label.

A 20% reduction in energy consumption was realized by implementing a series of conservation measures between 2012 and 2013. Earlier this year, One Century Tower was recognized by the State of Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection with the Summer Saver Silver Award for its reduction in electricity consumption.

“We are extremely pleased to obtain the EPA’s ENERGY STAR certification,” said Elizabeth Judd, President of Konover Commercial Corporation. “Our energy conservation efforts have resulted in improved efficiencies and lower costs for the building’s owners and tenants."
