Konover Residential Corporation (KRC) received multiple awards at the Connecticut Apartment Association (CTAA) Nutmeg Awards and Holiday Dinner held December 13, 2017 at Bill Miller’s Castle in Branford, Connecticut.
KRC, its properties and staff received honors in three categories: Community of the Year for communities between 1-10 years old; Best Overall Marketing Property; and Regional Manager of the Year. CTAA is the governing association for owners and management companies in the apartment industry and falls under the National Apartment Association.
The Sound at Gateway Commons in East Lyme, Connecticut was recognized as the Community of the Year (1-10 Years Old). The 280-unit luxury community was developed by Gateway Development/East Lyme, LLC, a joint venture between affiliates of The Simon Konover Company and KGI Properties of Providence RI. The community opened in 2015 and features ten buildings, along with a private clubhouse and heated outdoor pool. Konover Residential Corporation serves as the property manager.
The Sound at Gateway Commons was selected for this award based upon specific criteria, including demonstrated service to residents; floor layouts, interior and exterior structure; community programming; maintenance of property; and occupancy rates/retention.
KRC was recognized for the Best Overall Marketing Property for its marketing efforts at Trademark Fairfield, a 101-unit high end luxury community built in 2017. Trademark Fairfield is owned by BRCD Holdings LLC and managed by Konover Residential Corporation.
Christopher Crampton, Regional Manager for KRC, was named Regional Manager of the Year. Mr. Crampton join Konover Residential Corporation in 2016 as Regional Manager. He was recognized for his leadership, professionalism, budgetary skills and management of the property and staff. Mr. Crampton has 14 years of experience in the industry, starting his career as a leasing agent.

The annual Nutmeg Awards recognize CTAA members for their initiatives, skills, dedication and service to their residents, properties and the multi-family industry as a whole. Award recipients are selected from a pool of nominees by independent member judges from apartment associations in different states.
