West Hartford, CT – October 15, 2012 – Konover Commercial Corporation’s David B. Jones was recognized as the 2012 Engineer of the Year by the Greater Hartford Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA). The award was presented at The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) Awards Dinner on Thursday, October 11, 2012.
Mr. Jones is a Chief Building Engineer with Konover Commercial Corporation, responsible for operations at 25 Sigourney Street in Hartford, Connecticut. He was recognized for superior operations management, contract compliance, and preventive maintenance efforts resulting in cost reductions. In addition, substantial savings were achieved by in-sourcing major repair projects. Konover Commercial Corporation is the property manager for the 475,000 square foot building owned by the State of Connecticut.
Mr. Jones earned a Diploma in HVAC from New England Technical Institute and holds a D-2 HVAC License and a Universal Refrigerant Certification in Connecticut. He received Systems Maintenance Technical and Systems Maintenance Administrator designations from BOMI. Mr. Jones joined Konover Commercial Corporation in 1999.
The Outstanding Building of the Year award was created by BOMA in 1985 to recognize excellence in the office building industry. The 2012 TOBY Awards Gala was held at 960 Main Street in Hartford.
